No Matter What The Weather...

It happened! There was no yearbook signing, no BBQ celebrations, no after school pool parties, but school is out all the same! And I survived! Aimee and I decided that we needed to engage in some celebration of the end of school. So this is what we did...
A couple weeks ago we were talking to one of our friends Rhett who was leaving for the summer. He was saying how he didn't see Aimee very often. So they made a bet that if they didn't see each other before Rhett left then Aimee owed Rhett Subway, but if they did see each other before he left then Rhett owed Aimee Subway. So we decided that since yesterday was the last day he was in town we should most certainly invite him to lunch... and of course we were craving Subway! Aimee and I arrived at Subway first and Joe and Rhett joined us quickly after. Rhett's first reaction w
as to try not to see Aimee. That didn't last long. So of course Aimee won the bet because we are so wise! And we got to eat lunch with them, and that is always oh so fun!
Jensy Poo called and invited us to go thrift store shopping with him. We had never been in a thrift store before! The clothes, and jewelry, and kitchen stuff were all OK, but w
hat really got our attention was the BOOKS! We found this book that we decided to start reading... on the floor... in the store... It was kind of interesting, about WWII. We decided we wanted it, but all we had was Aimee's debit card, which meant that we had to spend $5. The book was only $2. So we went on a search! We ended up with: our book, a picture frame, another chapter book, a piano book with little kid songs in it that we had never heard of before, and Passport to Paris yes, the Mary Kate and Ashley movie!
Our next task was to watch our new movie! We sat on the floor, ate Doritos, and sour gummy worms. We had some interruptions in our movie watching though. We filled Rhett's cooler with ice, took Becca to get some lunch, picked Maddie up from school, and rellowcated (relocated) to Aimee's basement, Brian joined us and we were able to finish our movie.
If you don't already know, I am the new FHE coordinator in my ward. There's two of us in charge of planning the activities for the summer. We had a meeting yesterday and I think it was very successful! If anyone has amazing ideas for FHE activities I would love to hear them!
When Aimee and I have a day of celebration we always want to leave town and do so
mething fun that we don't do everyday. We decided that in order to do this we wouldn't be able to go very far because she didn't get off work until eight. So this left us with the option of Parowan! So it was, we went to Parowan to get milk shakes! MMMM I got raspberry, she got cookie dough! They were delicious! It was such a good little get away! We're going to start doing it more often!
When we got back into town we knew we had to go say goodbye to our friend Jeff who is graduating and moving up north to get a job and continue his life. Jeff, Aimee, Carl, and I used to have a tradition where we would go get breakfast burritos at midnight. So, we took Jeff a burrito! He was very grateful! We talked to him for a while, he told us all about his day. He had just got home from a terrible date! If you want to know details I can tell you later. But just know, it was horrible! Oh the dating stories we take with us throughout our lives! We're sad that Jeff is leaving, but I guess that will just give us an excuse to go to Provo!
Yesterday was such a good way to start off summer! My friends never cease to amaze me! I'm ready for summer! It's going to be full of many new adventures! No worries, I'll keep you all posted!

  1. Ya know what I hate! When you type up an amazing comment and then your stupid laptop runs out of battery and it doesn't save! So lets try this again.....

This was a typical example of a day in the life of Kayla and Aimee: finding some reason to celebrate, usually involving something quite tasty, doing completely RANDOM things, and of coarse not knowing what we are going to do until oh about three and half seconds before we do it!! Like our hunt for a present for Shawn!! And finding his house hahah oh that was FANTASTIC! Juice boxes and a helium balloon...it really just doesnt get much better than that!
